Year 4
Welcome to Year 4 at South Wellfield First School. As the oldest children in our school, Year 4 children are encouraged to develop independence, resilience and confidence as they prepare for the next stage of their education. Through an engaging and enriching curriculum, children are challenged to think critically, work collaboratively and take pride in their achievements, while continuing to embody The Wellfield Way: Safe, Respectful, Ready.
Our learning is brought to life through exciting experiences that inspire curiosity and help children make meaningful connections between their classroom learning and the wider world. We aim to nurture enthusiastic learners who are ready to embrace new challenges and make the most of every opportunity.
Highlights of Year 4
Year 4 is packed with memorable experiences. Children take part in swimming lessons, developing confidence and essential life skills in the water. Our visit to Segedunum Roman Fort brings history to life, allowing children to explore the fascinating legacy of Roman Britain. One of the most eagerly anticipated highlights of the year is our residential visit to Robinwood, where children challenge themselves through a range of adventurous activities, building teamwork, resilience and independence while creating lasting memories with their friends.
