Eco Warriors
We have a representative from each class, Year 1 to Year 4, who has taken on the role of an Eco Warrior this year. Together, we take responsibility for thinking about how we can help conserve and protect our planet, and the small everyday actions we can take to make a positive difference.
At the beginning of the year, we met to discuss environmental issues that we felt were important, both globally and within our school community. After thoughtful discussion and reflection, we decided that litter was an issue we particularly wanted to focus on.
We have been busy litter picking around school making sure our school environment is tidy and safe for us and also the wildlife around.
We have also celebrated important dates in the eco calendar like Earth Day and Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday. We created a pollinator patch in our Forest School as a tribute to him. We hope our patch will attract lots of bees and butterflies, supporting local wildlife and celebrate the importance of pollinators in our ecosystem!
